CDBS

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule is an Australian Government program that provides access to up to $1,000.00 in benefits over two consecutive calendar years, covering the most basic general dental services. Services that receive a benefit under the program include dental examinations, x-rays, teeth cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals and extractions. Benefits are not available for orthodontic or cosmetic dental work. The program is for children aged between 2 and 17 years and receiving a relevant Australian Government payment, such as Family Tax Benefit A. A notification of eligibility will be sent from Medicare or you can confirm your eligibility by accessing your online account at my.gov.au or calling Medicare directly. Please advise Hunter Family Dentistry when booking your appointment that you wish to use CDBS and we will check your availability and balance.

Call Us

DVA

Hunter Family Dentistry is registered with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs to provide quality dental care. We welcome eligible members of the veteran community with a Gold or White repatriation health card. As per Department of Veterans guidelines, Gold Card covers the majority of dental services that you will need, with the White Card covering some treatments that will require approval from the DVA before it is commenced. Depending on the treatment you need, our dentists will either be able to perform the work immediately and without approval from the DVA or will need to seek approval from the department before proceeding. For instance, procedures like dental examinations, x-rays and fillings can be done without delay while some surgical work will need approval first. If you are a member of the Department of Veterans’ Affairs and hold a DVA health card, please advise us when booking your dental appointment.

Cancellation Policy

We understand life gets busy, but your oral hygiene is important to us. At Hunter Family Dentistry, we will always ring the day before to confirm your appointment. We ask that if something unavoidable does come up and you need to reschedule your appointment, please give us as much notice as possible. We would prefer at least 24 hours’ notice. If insufficient notice is given on multiple times a cancellation fee may be charged.

Payment Policy

Hunter Family Dentistry requires payment on the day of your dental treatment. We accept cash, EFTPOS, Visa and Mastercard. For our patients with private health insurance, we offer HICAPS. We will process your claim on the spot from your health fund with only your gap payable on the day. If you do not have your health fund card, we will require full payment on the day and will issue you with your invoice to claim directly with your health insurance provider.
